Tresco – The Great British Staycation

I didn’t think this trip would happen. We’d had it booked for months, way before this virus arrived on the scene, but then lockdown was upon us and you weren’t allowed to stay a single night away from home. So I had stopped myself getting excited, assuming that we wouldn’t be able to go. Then a week before we were due to leave it was announced that we could travel again – I couldn’t believe our luck, we’d be some of the first people to be on holiday this summer. And what a place to go… Tresco is a small, other worldly island. It’s part of the Isles of Scilly, a few dots of land peeking out of the Atlantic Ocean a bit West of Cornwall. It’s a place for getting away, for diving in the sea, for getting sunburnt, windswept, tired, tipsy and happy. And for a week...

Pacifico Beer – National Campaign

Mazatlán is a beautiful city on the coast of Sinaloa, Mexico. A town full of colour, culture and food. And the town that gave birth to Pacifico beer. For the relaunch of this brand I was asked to capture the feeling of its home.  Working with an incredible team from New London, I was actively encouraged to approach the project as I saw best. We spent hours chatting about the brand, their history and their aims for the future. I was trusted to tell that story. And there was no better way than to experience it and capture what I saw.  A moment of calm. That was the best way to summarise my brief. To capture those moments we all wish we had more of. I spent a week in Mazatlan, creating an image library for the brand, it’s out of home campaign, and video content to feature on it’s...

Oaxaca – Conde Nast Traveller

“Away from the well-trodden streets of the old town, and far from the warm glow of the lanterns at Pitiona, the Mexican state of Oaxaca reveals its true flavour to the traveller. Especially the hungry one…” I travelled to Oaxaca in Mexico with writer Olga Dziewulska, to eat the incredible food that the region is so famous for and to meet and photograph its amazing people. Europe – From Sunrise to Sunset

It’s time for part two of my epic adventure photographing for UnitedHealthcare Insurance. After travelling around The Americas with my camera, I found myself soaring across the Atlantic Ocean. I was going on a Eurotrip through Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Rome, Venice, Florence, Tuscany and finally home to photograph London… Like the Americas, I had very little time in each place and lots of photographs to take. I found myself cycling the canals of Amsterdam, photographing loved-up strangers in Paris, eating ‘the best pizza’ in Rome and pretending to be a tourist in my home city of London. Thank you UnitedHealthcare Insurance for the experience. One of my most intense but enjoyable jobs to date.See part one here: LINK                               See part my photos from Canada and Mexico here: LINK

The Americas – From Sunrise to Sunset

Toronto, Niagara Falls, Montreal, Vancouver, Vancouver Islands, Cancun, Tulum, Chichen Itza, Mexico City, Guanajuato… and breathe. I travelled around these wonderful places taking photographs for UnitedHealthcare Insurance to create an image library for their new travel insurance arm. I wish I had more time to properly soak up each location – but it was wonderful to get a taster of so many amazing destinations. Let’s just say my ‘places to visit’ list has expanded quite considerably… And this was only the first part of the assignment. Europe was next: LINK                                           See part two here: EUROPE

 - I am off again. - Charlie Clift

I am off again.

Last summer I packed a tent, a shiny new bike and my camera and headed to California for a cycling adventure. The bike is a bit less shiny today, the tent a bit worn but the camera is the same and I am off again. Oregon and California – here I come. Expect plenty of photos upon my return. And in the meantime catch up with me on instagram where I shall be posting the weird and the wonderful from the trip. https://instagram.com/charlie_clift/ @charlie_clift
